Myth #2: If you find a fawn alone, she has been orphaned.

Fact: Seeing fawns all alone is actually normal! Until the fawn is four weeks old, you will rarely see the mother. To avoid predators from finding her babies, mother deer only visit them two to three times a day. The babies stay very still—and their natural coloring helps them blend into their surroundings. What is it about a fawn that helps it blend in? See the photo above to find out! (Hint: She’s wearing camouflage!)
