Be Smart, Stay Safe

Spread the word about dog bite prevention! Use the tips from "Play It Safe" to host a safety demonstration. Use puppets and/or stuffed animals as "actors."

Get your classmates together to write a script. Using your "actors," show the right way to approach a dog. Show what to do when a dog likes you. Show what to do if a dog barks or growls at you.

Create a booklet (or print out our booklet here) to hand out to your audience after the presentation. You can use what you've learned in KIND News to spread the word.

Hit the Road!

Take your presentation to younger classes in your school. Introduce yourselves and your "actors." Have your teacher hold a question/answer period after the performance. You can hand out your booklets during this time.

Over the summer, have presentations in your neighborhood to teach all your neighbors how to be safe around dogs.
