Myranda Hutchinson
Cincinnati, Ohio

Bubba is one lucky lobster! The nearly 8-pound crustacean was raffled off at
the grand opening of a supermarket in Cincinnati. Fortunately for Bubba, the winner didn't want to have him for dinner—7-year-old Myranda wanted to set him free. With her parents' help, Myranda contacted aquariums and zoos, hoping one would take in Bubba.

None were able to give him a home—but the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium put the family in touch with Eddie Monat. A diver in Maine, Monat agreed to release Bubba in Maine waters. So Myranda's parents bought Bubba a plane ticket, and he made the trip packed safely in a foam box. Now the large lobster is living large, but what if he's trapped again? No worries. In Maine, it's illegal to catch and keep a lobster of Bubba's size.
