On November 4, 2008, Americans headed to the polls to cast their ballots for president and other elected positions. Californians also had another important vote to cast—a "yes" vote on The Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act, Proposition 2!

Prop 2 would ban the cruel practices of confining farm animals. Nine-year-old musician, actor, and animal lover Sage Ryan knew Prop 2 would help millions of animals trapped in cages and crates in California. That's why he spoke out in support of the measure.

Sage also showed off his skills in this music video about Prop 2. (Watch it below!) Thanks to Sage and the hard work of many other people, Prop 2 passed. It became the most important victory for farm animals in U.S. history!
